and i will not pretend how strange
that on unfamiliar soil
we sitting upon parallel worlds
began to let our ink flow onto each other
worried not of stains left behind
corresponding resemblance unifies
without distinction two forms became rhythmic.

and i won’t pretend that when you walk past my heart doesn’t descend
ones you cannot grasp
in the pit of the stomach
swell up into my eyes
holding back tears

and now i cannot pretend a piece of me doesn’t fracture along the fault line
seismic ripples propagate waves of longing
atmospheric pressure grips across shaky landscapes.
